City to Issue Regulation for Private Hospital

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama is about to issue regulation for private hospital. The regulation is private hospital can not refuse accident patients no matter what the reason is.

“For emergency status, private hospital can not ask money. We’ll prepare the regulation,” he said, Thursday (9/1).

So far, accident patient must give down payment before getting the hospital service. Basuki does not want to complicate the problem. It is also aimed to advance the health service in the capital.

“No more asking money from dying patients. This service must be improved to ease other regions,” he added.

Basuki continued that such policy has been applied in Regional Hospitals (RSUD).

“We do not force private hospital to accept the BPJS cooperation. But we told them if you can not follow our regulation, you may have no patients,” he closed.
